On your arrival in Leh, you will be greeted by our representative, and a cab will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. We highly recommend that you have enough rest for the day. If you have medical needs due to the high altitude, Snowbird Himalaya staff will be available to assist you. In the evening, you will meet your companion for the next few days of your motorbike tour, the “ROYAL ENFIELD” motorcycle.

Activities: Embark on a thrilling bike trip that begins early in the morning at Leh, heading towards the Thiksey Monastery. Enjoy the serene 19-kilometre ride along the scenic Indus River. Spend the morning exploring Thiksey’s beautiful murals and statues, reminiscent of the Potala Palace. Around midday, ride 40 kilometres to the Hemis Monastery, tucked in a mountain valley. Discover the rich cultural heritage of Hemis, the largest Buddhist monastery in Ladakh, visiting its museum and possibly catching a prayer session. After immersing yourself in spiritual and cultural exploration, enjoy a leisurely bike ride back to Leh in the late afternoon.

The ride today is going to be interesting as we ride towards the mighty Khardungla, staggering at an altitude of 5359 meters, like that of Everest base camp. From Leh, it’s going to be uphill till we reach the top of Khardungla Pass, from the top we ride down the hill heading towards Nubra Valley. The ride is going to be fun. We stop for lunch at Khardong Village, and before reaching Hunder Village, the dunes of this region greet you with their beauty.

Today offers an optional ride for those interested. We’ll head towards Turtuk village, the northernmost Indian village bordering Pakistan. There, the renowned Balti Kitchen will serve us a delightful local meal. After lunch, we’ll take a stroll through the historical village of Turtuk, exploring its fascinating history and distinctive architecture. Later, we will return to Nubra via the same route.

Today, we’ll set out toward Khalsar village and take the left turn onto the route leading to Pangong Lake. As we enter the Shyok Valley en route to Durbuk, we’ll face several challenges, including multiple water crossings and gravel roads. The journey may be particularly tough in parts, especially during the monsoon season. We’ll make a stop in the small town of Durbuk, which is home to the best coffee shop in the entire Changthang region, just in time for lunch. After lunch, we’ll continue our drive towards Pangong Lake, journeying for a few more hours until we reach our homestay.

After an early breakfast, we resume our ride towards Durbuk town, then take a left turn toward the renowned Chang La Pass, located at an altitude of 5,360 meters. The ascent to Chang La Pass will be a challenging uphill ride, with the last few kilometres featuring difficult road conditions. Upon reaching the top, take a break at Chang La Pass to enjoy a cup of tea, then descend towards Sakti village. We’ll stop for lunch in Karu town before heading back to Leh via the Leh-Manali highway.
