390 Adventure

Introduction

The KTM 390 Adventure is a lightweight, entry-level adventure motorcycle designed for riders who want a perfect balance of everyday usability and long-distance touring capability. Introduced as part of KTM’s travel-enduro lineup, it draws inspiration from the brand’s Dakar-winning machines, bringing rally-inspired design and technology into an accessible package. With its sharp styling, premium features, and proven reliability, the 390 Adventure quickly became a top choice for riders seeking versatility on both urban roads and untamed trails.

Performance

At its core lies a 373cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing about 43 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. Its strong mid-range power and ride-by-wire throttle provide smooth yet responsive performance, whether tackling highways or dirt roads. Built on a lightweight steel trellis frame, the bike features long-travel WP APEX suspension (170 mm front, 177 mm rear) and high ground clearance (~200 mm), making it adept at handling rough terrain, gravel trails, and mild off-road tracks. Equipped with switchable traction control, cornering ABS, and off-road ABS, the 390 Adventure delivers confidence even in unpredictable conditions. While lighter than bigger ADVs, its stable handling, low weight (~177 kg dry), and 14.5-litre fuel tank make it especially suited for extended rides across varied terrain. On Leh–Ladakh tours, riders appreciate its strong high-altitude performance, nimble handling in tight mountain passes, and modern electronics that aid control on rocky trails.

Looks

The KTM 390 Adventure carries a rally-inspired design with aggressive lines, sharp bodywork, and a tall stance that reflects its off-road DNA. The signature split LED headlamp, high windscreen, and angular fuel tank shrouds give it a modern, purposeful look. Its upright ergonomics, long-travel suspension, and spoked-wheel option (in the “X” variant) highlight its readiness for adventure. The bright orange trellis frame, a KTM trademark, along with bold graphics, ensures it stands out both on city streets and in remote landscapes.
