1. Prepare for High Altitude
- Ladakh sits at 11,500+ ft, and passes go beyond 19,000 ft.
- Spend a day or two in Leh before the ride to acclimatise.
- Avoid alcohol and smoking in the first 24–48 hours.
- Stay hydrated — sip water regularly.
2. Riding Experience is Key
- Be confident riding on mountain roads, sharp bends, gravel, and water crossings.
- Practice long-distance rides before joining the tour.
- Learn to ride standing on pegs — useful on rough stretches.
3. Pack Smart, Pack Light
- Bring only essentials; extra luggage can go in the support vehicle.
- Use waterproof bags or rain covers for your belongings.
- Carry warm layers — temperatures can drop suddenly, especially at night.
4. Essential Riding Gear
- Helmet (full-face recommended).
- Riding jacket with armour.
- Gloves, knee & elbow guards.
- Sturdy riding boots with ankle protection.
- Sunglasses/goggles + sunscreen (the sun is very strong at altitude).
5. Documents to Carry
- Valid driving license (mandatory).
